No driver is required for today's monitors except for some monitors with special features. The only features that I can recall is for dividing the screen into four screens and for picture-in-picture.
Why do you think you need a driver?
Thank you. The built-in controls don't control the sound very well. There are no controls from the Control panel. Sometimes the sound goes to my laptop instead of the display. I can use headphones, but can't share the sound very effectively.
What are you trying to share to?
With an HDMI monitor connected you should be able to select the sound output device:
My HDMI cable is connected but there is no audio.
In System Preferences, select Sound. Click the Output tab and then select your HDMI device from the list.
